PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

Step 1: Register your Participation!

- Go to www.readtogether.com.my to register your school’s participation
 by 30 September 2012.
- P.O. Box addresses are NOT allowed. If your school does not have a mailing address,
please use the address of your Pusat Kegiatan Guru or    refer to your  
Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri.
- Scholastic will be sending a READ2012 School Kit which consists of bookmarks,
posters, etc. to schools that register by the deadline or, after we    have reached 2,000
schools. Whichever comes first.
- After 30 September 2012, schools can still register to participate in READ2012 and
receive the 50 books, but they will not receive the School Kit.

Step 2: Publicize the event to your students!

- Distribute the materials in the School Kit to your students and hang up the posters
around your school at least one week before 24 October 2012    to rally your students to
read for the event.
- Remind the students to bring a storybook to read on the event day.

Step 3: Running the SHOW!

- On 24 October, teachers can organize a reading session in their classrooms for
2,012 seconds (33.5 minutes).
- School-going children of any age – from preschool to secondary school - c
an participate. Depending on your students’ reading ability, teachers    can organize
 read-aloud or shared reading sessions or allow them to read materials of their choice
independently.

Step 4: After the event!

- Send us ONE photograph of your students reading during the event.
- Maximum photo size is 1MB
- To upload, go to www.readtogether.com.my and click on the Upload Photo tab.
- Scholastic will send the 50 books to your school upon receipt of your photo after the event.
